SM Pass sizzle reel
Steve Madden hired an agency to create marketing content to raise awareness of their member rewards program "SM Pass". The agency turned to me to create a one-of-a-kind, dynamic video from pre-existing footage. They provided the music track—a great selection—but otherwise gave me free-reign to come up with something unique. The result is one of the best edited videos of my career. 
My favorite part
There's two favorites. Timing the shot of the model kicking the screen (pictured above) with the gunshot in the music track followed by the shot of the pigeons scattering came together brilliantly. Again, none of this was scripted or storyboarded; I discovered this sequence after playing around with the footage. The second favorite part is the staccato effect that matches the music track vocals. This too was also a happy accident. The effects emerged while toying with clip speed and the Posterize Time effect in Premiere Pro.
